This also applies to cable, chain, and webbing.

A "bight" is a simple loop in a rope that does not cross itself.
A "bend" is a knot that joins two ropes together. Bends can only be attached to the end of a rope.
A "hitch" is a type of knot that must be tied around another object.
"Descending devices" (e.g., ATCs, Brake Bar Racks, Figure 8s, Rescue 8s, etc) create friction as their primary purpose. The friction in descending devices is always considered when calculating forces.
The "Safety Factor" is the ratio between the gear's breaking strength and the maximum load applied to the gear (e.g., 5:1).
You receive a "license key" when you purchase vRigger. Your license key is displayed on the screen immediately after you place your order and it is emailed to you.
Your license key authorizes vRigger to run on your computer. It also controls whether the optional gear is licensed.
The first time you run vRigger, you will be prompted to enter your key. You must be connected to the internet so your license key can be verified.
Each vRigger license allows you to run vRigger on one computer. The license also allows you to run vRigger on a second computer if vRigger will be used by the same person. For example, you could install vRigger on your desktop and laptop computers.
A command in vRigger allows you to unlicense vRigger. You can then use the license key on a different computer without uninstalling vRigger from the first computer. Learn how to move vRigger to a new computer.
The message, "vRigger has been installed the maximum number of times" will be displayed if your license key has already been used.
This can happen when you move vRigger to a new computer. If you still have access to your old computer you can unlicense it. Otherwise, you can request that we reset your license key.
If you are reinstalling vRigger and have misplaced your license key, please contact us and request a replacement key. Be sure to tell us the email address you used when you purchased vRigger.
After entering your license key, vRigger may mistakenly report that you are not connected to the internet. This is almost always caused by a firewall or proxy. If vRigger continues to display this message and you can connect to vRigger.com using a browser, please contact us (be sure to tell us the exact message displayed by vRigger).
